San Marcos - The fire is currently 5 acres and spreading both to the northeast and to the west. Multiple additional resources have been requested. The fire is burning in the Palomar College Aboretum.

The fire is about 100-150 yards from residences on Kirkwall Drive and Helmsdale Drive, but is not pushing towards them at this time. Multiple fire crews are in this area for structure protection.
15-20 acres with spotting, MROS-RROS. Aircraft are enroute from Ramona. Official location of origin is at Comet x/ MIssion Rd.
The fire is now 30 acres with a moderate rate of spread. Structures are threatened on the right flank. Potential for 500 acres. Will be extended attack if it jumps Borden Rd. Additional tankers requested. Copter 10, AA-330, and Tankers 70 & 71 now on scene.
2 additional tankers, 1 copter, 10 type 3 engines, and 2 handcrews have been ordered. Both tankers have made drops on the fire and are load and return.
Type 3 Strike Team en-route from Metro Zone. Type 1 Strike Team en-route from Heartland.
AA-330 reporting fire is about 40 acres now, head + left flank still running up slope, were able to catch the spot that was out in front. 1 addl type 2 copter w/ crew requested.
The two additional Tankers are from Hemet T-73 AND T-85
AA-330 reporting fire is holding at approximately 40 acres. Looks to be all boxed in with retardant via the camera. A few of the additional Copters have been released, good stop in these conditions.
Tankers 70, 71, & 73 remain assigned to the fire and will be doubling up the retardant lines due to predicted winds tonight and tomorrow.
This one was a little close for comfort. Just about 1500-2000’ over the next ridge. Fire is done deal. Photos shortly!
