Per IC…fire is just about to impact SB 163 and advising CHP to get ready to possibly close it if warranted.
Also requesting 2 additional copters and a full air response from CF
Metro just advised IC that Miramar has notified them that military airspace is not clear as of yet
Also just advised they need WB52 closed as fire is within 3 mins of the freeway
Fire area
Box is Hwy 52 to the south, 163 on the east, Miramar runway to the north and Convoy St on the west.
IC just requested a 2 T3 ST
Should be able to hold that between the 52 and the 163. Last known fire history was the Cedar Fire in 2003.
Holding at 5 acres, requesting 1 dozer and 2 and crews. Fire has burned to the edge of the WB52
IC is revising acres at 10 and cancelling fixed wing.
Miramar advises dozer is not permitted in the area of the fire
No Dozer due to presence of unexploded ordinance
I was assigned to the CDF Miramar FFS. We would work side by side with NAS Miramar and SDFD. Our tactic. Break out the torches and burn it out. Not unusual io see explosions either.
More likely because it’s a National Natural Landmark. I don’t believe there’s any UXO in that area.
