220,025 acres and 18% contained.
Noticed the “s_california” link on the FTP NIFC is removed. Too much activity? Is this really meant for this kind of public use?
I think they were updating it. It is back up. Have had this happen before first thing in the morning.
228,025 acres and 18% contained. Looks like an I.R. flight happening.
AA15 took two flights, in AM and PM, over both the Creek and Bullfrog. Both times the high pressure ridge over the area kept a thick layer of smoke over the fire. No fixed wing work. I did hear helco up for a short time in the PM. I believe helco and 1 or 2 copters got some bucket work completed.
244,756 @ 18% on the InciWeb morning update.
AA15 AM morning flight turned up no fixed nor rotor wing opportunities due to heavy ground smoke.
The northeast section pushing hard east and going to add another big chunk of acreage, the plan is to let it run to natural granite barriers that direction.
My radar is showing possible moisture in the clouds above Shaver is this true??
It was mentioned as a possibility by the incident meteorologist
246,756 ac. @ 20% per the evening Inciweb update. Gotta like increased acres and increased containment. Like @TheBrushSlasher mentioned… big push to the NE today. Tonight’s IR should be interesting. Eyeballs in the ground here west of Div E… today’s smoke may have been a little lighter than it’s been (maybe wishful thinking?)… still not clear enough for any air ops fer shur.
Getting some sprinkles here in Fresno, hopefully it gets heavier. Power is back on in meadow lakes and they are working on a date to repopulate the area very soon, that is from an extremely reliable source, former captain of SNF engine 31 called out of retirement.
Power to meadow was restored Monday, even though it was evacuated. But, the transmitter stations and two way radio companies were in need of it.
AA15 is up over the fire and is Requesting a Lead Plane and a tanker lineup. He must have some clean air.
Inbound: Tankers 160, 40, 79, 82 and Lead 63.
They were going to work the spot in the SW corner of the fire but, smoke has covered over the area again cancelling the action. T160 is going to be able to make a high drop and then shut it down.
160 and 40 dropped earlier, they’ve got good air for helicopter work in the blue canyon area now.
271,938 acres puts it just behind the cedar fire now for acreage. It’s 25% contained.
*** 278,368 actually…
Copter 404 has the torch working division W on Burrough mountain.
Firing ops in W visible from round mountain.

Things look real good right now, 404 is still working and another copter is watching for spots. Got tankers 82 and 83 with AA15 and tanker 160(?) Working at dinkey creek.
