Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Authorities have implemented road closures at Eastbound Hwy 190 at Balch Park Road. All power has been lost above Camp Nelson from Rio Vista to Ponderosa. There are currently no evacuation orders in place. But you should avoid the area if possible.

Sheriff Boudreaux has issued a Evacuation Warning for the following areas:

All points along Wishon Drive north of Highway 190, including Camp Wishon and the community of Doyle Springs. If you live in this area, be prepared to leave. The Evacuation Warning is NOT a mandatory evacuation order. However, the warning means there is a potential threat to life and/or property. And those who require additional time to evacuate, or those who have pets and livestock, should leave.

it looks like TNK 912 was able to make a drop along with the other mix of aircraft to nail this one down

Firefighters continue to respond to a wildfire in the Tule River Canyon near the Stairs on the Western Divide Ranger District in Sequoia National Forest. Personnel from USDA Forest Service, CAL FIRE, and Tulare County are on scene, with additional units ordered and arriving soon.

The fire is estimated at 290 acres in size. Campers at Wishon Campground have been asked to leave the area. Highway 190 is closed at the intersection with Balch Park Road in Springville to keep visitors from driving into the steep canyon where the fire is located.

IC was stating it’s staying on the north side of hwy 190.

UPDATE @ 08:26 AA07 over fire requesting 2 type 1 copters and 2 type 2 tankers. Activity on NE flank is active and burning through retardant from yesterday. No ground crews are on that section.

Intel 24 just flew it and reduced size at 318 acres. Not much smoke showing. Another good stop.
