NEWS RELEASE: Three Firefighters Injured in Tree Strike Incident

ORLEANS, California — Three firefighters from the U.S. Forest Service working on the Butler Fire, part of the Orleans Complex, were injured in a tree strike incident at approximately 2:15 p.m. today.
Firefighters were transported to Redding for further medical care.
This incident is under investigation.

The fire isn’t doing a lot, but there are lots of interesting facets to how fires get fought in this country, and also, in how the locals interact with the incident management teams.

And as soon as this fire is wrapped up it looks like a new lightning start just East of the Butler. The Big Cliff fire is 70 acres and is burning very well based off the cameras this morning.
