Looking to find exact location… generally its north of Long Barn off the Hwy 108,
east of Sonora.
Just to the west north west, on the ridge top of Bald Mtn helibase
Its burning in the timber and setting on top of a lava cap. I haven’t kept up on resources because of all the movement and activity. Henry fire had a lot of resources tired up on the STF. The two Cal fire engine at Twain Harte or on the River Fire. Been seeing a lot of off forest resources in town and some from out of state New Mexico. STF just ordered a type 1 copter and it’s an hour out. Baseline Crew 3 is responding to the fire. Have not heard and update or acreage.
I would go up and take a closer look at it but that area already a zoo with all the tourist in and out of Pinecrest. Don’t want to be part of that problem. From where I’m at it’s looking a little better. Air force is hitting it hard. Ground troops are on it. Hopefully they can catch it before the heat of the day and the wind can really blew in the afternoon there.

Long Barn, CA– The fire is located west of 108 between Long Barn and Strawberry on the Mi Wok Ranger District. Air resources have contained the fire at 5 acres using retardent. More information will become available as it comes into the news center.
