CA-STF-Dry meadow and North Beardsley prescribed burn??

This burn started in May and ignitions were stopped in late June but smoke from interior pockets of fuel burning off have continued to be observed. Stanislaus national forest has made the decision to resume ignitions under favorable conditions.

If the conditions are right and in their prescription Burn It. We have not had conditions that favored burning after the month of June till almost December in a long time. The STF has been doing a lot of burning this year. Give it a couple years and that part of the forest they burned is going to look great. So many benefits that come out of this.

They’ve been burning along the 108 corridor for the last 10-12 years. Some of it is ready for retreatment already with all the buckbrush that has come back

That is very true! I lived in Twain Harte for 25 years now in Sonora. That’s one of the problem with fuel breaks is you have to keep them up. If you look on some of old CDF Admin maps, there are shaded fuel breaks on them and many are not. Problem is they have had no treatment in many, many years. I used one on the Telegraph Fire in MMU.

Fixed wing from Columbia went out there about two hours ago. Tankers came back but 404 and the helitanker are out there now.
