The fire is 10 acres now and spotted across the canyon, rapid rate of spread. Requesting a T3 strike team.

I heard the MMU Dozer go on scene but no other radio traffic. Can’t see it from my backyard which is surprising if 30 acres. Not a good place to have a fire. Lot’s of houses on the rim of the river canyon.
Tuolumne City, Ponderosa hills and MiWuk Rancheria could be affected. Evac orders for those areas. That area is steep with heavy brush and whats left of the timber stands from bug kill. That area has a little fire history and was my old IA. Very nasty country, see what happens when the sun gets on this. WD says fifty acres. That fire gets running it will go up the back side of Ponders Hills which would be a nightmare for structure protection. Same if it spotted into Turnback creek in the Rancheria then another shot into Ponderosa Hills. Just heard them release T 4426 but still nothing about the fire.

Looking at the WD map it’s burning down in the N Fork Tuolumne River. It must of spotted across Buchanan Rd. Still on the west side of the river canyon. Fire burning right under Tuolumne City. I hope they get hose and some water on this before the sun gets on the fire. Just heard 9441C come in the Unit.
MMU dozer 4245 at the fire now.

Based on the current cameras, inversion has the lid on it.

The sun will be hitting the west side of the canyon soon. That inversion should lift when the canyon heats up and those up canyon winds start up. Looking from my house it still pretty smoky. Columbia should have an early up . AA should be up shortly.

AA up with both Tankers in tow @ 07:23.

Looks like two tankers and two copters early up on the fire.

Yup, hitting it hard this morning. Line up so far AA 440, AT 82, 83 with Copter 602 and 4AJ. Hoselay being laid from Buchanan rd up to Mira Monte rd. Trying to tie in that spot over the road. Going to be some steep ground for those folks. N Fork Tuolumne River is right there so turn around time for the copters should not be an issue.

Santa Barbara County 9322c heading up also.

The fire would be between Sonora and Duckwall. Duckwall being the tallest mountain in the back.
As you can see no smoke is being generated. Hopefully no roll out or sleepers in that river canyon as the day goes on. Get some solid handline and dozerline where they can and strong mop up. They should be in good shape. That’s one of the areas in the Unit when you get a fire you go OH SH!T.
