I think I spoke too soon. Looking at the kcra feed, looks like fire is already established in the saddle I was speaking of.

That’s the hope to hold it there. I have seen spots come out of that heavy brush in the Chamise
two days after fire was contained in that country. Spots are a real issue with these temps. Your right Bear is nothing but rugged topo and brush.

Fortunately, it doesn’t look as though there are any homes out directly ahead of this fire until it crests the peak to its east. It’ll have to burn thousands more acres before its a direct threat to the rural communities on the back end of that hillside.

That’s one of the problems if it makes that run to the top and spot all over the leeward side of that ridge.

for the branch specifically, unsure if that’s in addition to what’s been ordered but the branch asked for it after the other orders where placed.

From my house. Crossed the saddle and is making a large run up the mountain. Can’t see in pics but I can see a fire front from here.

Keep us updated on what your seeing great pic. Back in the Late 90’s John Shimmer(B-4411) had a huge burned plan for Bear MTN, it was something like 8 to 10 thousand acres. We had it prepped and all the lines cut in. Two to three day burn but due to fire activity we were never able to burn it.

They have units going into Circle Twenty back side of Bear MTN. Riata way X Pool Station. Hopefully the fire won’t make it that far.

Current view from hogan at 1949. It’s already crested the ridge line of bear. The last 20 minutes have been impressive to watch.

They have a bunch of iron coming in, A lot of oak woodland on top to work with. But when you drop of the top of Bear lot of heavy brush. Going to be interesting what this does when the sun goes down.
