CA-TCU-Lightning Complex??

Lightning complex fires are typically numbered due to the shear volume of fires. It also helps keep them organized. In the units I have worked in the first number is the battalion of the fire then a dash then the sequential number. For instance if you have two fires in battalion 1 and two fires in battalion 2 you would have 1-1, 1-2, 2-1, and 2-2. Each battalion would become a branch of the complex for more simplified command and control.

Well, it’s been since 1987 when the Stanislaus complex fires went through. Don’t know how thick the forest regenerated since then as far as fuel load.

I know it’s early, but wondering if there is a link to an IAP for the TCU Lightning Complex?

Looking at the AC overlay of TCU on Watch Duty I’m not seeing much aircraft flying. Only a couple copters and AA 658?

I’m guessing everyone timed out yesterday, and holdovers are gonna pop up today, as well as increased activity on the known fires this afternoon. They’re probably trying to same flight time for this afternoon.

That’s in the works. Yesterday evening a bunch of Ships(Rotors) timed out. Might be trying to space these out to have them in the air all day.

No new intel on the complex/fires. Watch Duty is reporting… ā€œNo new or additional official information has been provided on most Incidents at this time. Watch Duty reporters continue to monitor all the Lightning Complex fires in the Tuolumne, Calaveras and Stanislaus County areas and will provide information as it becomes available.ā€

Likely catching their breath. I’m sure last night challenged EVERYBODY big time.

Is there a count on how many structures were lost yet?

It is highly unlikely. That area is still hot and the battle is ongoing.
