Was shown in 1700 KCRA news. Was a shot from helicopter. Reported 1 minor injury. No further details.

Listening to the radio yesterday the fire bumped a lot of houses hard but never heard of one involved. When the 6-5 took off I was away from the radio a couple of hours.

Hopefully just a point of clarification surrounding IWI events. We cannot control broadcast news footage of something in progress. The issue becomes when we are posting IWI events, injuries and sometimes fatalities unfortunately based upon radio traffic only. There is always a time gap of the unknowns and it isnât the proper protocol for family and friends to potentially learn of something from an unverified radio segment here. It has been a very long standing policy here to wait to discuss those events until there is a formal press release from the media or the agency. In this specific circumstance commenting on live broadcast news footage which is being distributed is not a violation of that policy.
I hope that adds some clarity to the situation because this specific circumstance is extremely rare.

Is the team in place? Luckily yesterdays forecast for more lightning didnât pan out. The last thing they didnât need was erratic and outflow winds. Still hearing cooler weather starting this weekend into next week. Bring it! Not hearing much and hoping they are getting a handle on things.

Local incident feeds are reporting a similar accident outside of basecamp about 40 minutes ago per radio traffic. Trying to keep in line with the mods last note, but also think itâs important to emphasize the need for defensive driving and rest as noted in todayâs IAP.

Was messing with Copernicus browser and decided to see what sentinel satellite captured of these.
I was also up there yesterday and Pacific ultra power is busy burning charred wood. Another town that couldnât dodge all the bullets, Jamestown and Columbia are gonna be a cluster𤏠when the time comes.
