Looking out from my house to the north can’t see any smoke so that’s good. This fire in the
Butte Fire scare. A lot of dead and down from the Butte fire. Lot of mop will be going on for a day or two. The location given put it on the North Fork of the Calaveras River/Jesus Maria Creek. Kinda the wild west in that area you just don’t know what your going to run into. See what happens when the sun gets on the fire. Not a lot of radio traffic, heard a ST of crews just go at scene. Also an engine ST coming into the unit heading to the fire didn’t catch the number.

Little update…Dozer working on some indirect line and one pushing on the line. Handcrews coming on scene will be cutting direct line on Div B going east. This fire far from over. AA should be over the fire in the next thirty or so. Have not heard an updated acreage, WD says 45 acres.

AA up with tanker in tow. Going to drop infront of the Dozers in the drainage to shore that section of line up. Then going over to Div B where hoselays are being laid and putting drops down infront of them. Really hard to hear just getting bits and pieces of radio traffic. AA dropping on X ray then will move to Bravo. A long day ahead of everyone on this fire. That’s pretty ugly country.

They have had a lot of regrowth after the Butte Fire. The brush on this fire is 6 to 8 feet tell and very thick. A lot of snags and down material in this fire scare. Not going to be easy going for the Handcrews. Dozer will find some steep ground in places. Looks like the Air Force is doing their thing now. Unit is hitting this fire pretty hard and quick. Mt Zion has a great view of this fire. So far no boils of heat and smoke. Banner Rd raws says 91 with RH at 35%. We have a little cloud cover for now. Supposed to be 105 today in San Andreas. Hoselays, Handcrews and Dozers and Air Force are hard at work trying to get some containment on this fire before its heat up.

This ones pretty much over with. Forward rate of spread is stopped, mop up will continue for days.
It was 107 at my house yesterday in Sonora. On the fire in that canyon had to be pushing 110 plus.
That being said Two shout out to give; one to the ground pounders, especially the Handcrews. The other is to the Unit for keeping everyone Hydrated with water and gatorade.
