This is not good…Depending on where it started the last major fire in that canyon was the Darby Fire. Going to go to a look at this one . Hopefully it stays on the Calavears side and does not spot to the Tuolumne side. This is not what anybody needed at this point in time, lets pray they make some good progress this morning. That Nasty river canyon and just plain old steep brushy country.
Copter 404 now assigned, (early up I asssume) with a 2 minute ETE
Div “M” left flank/shoulder is starting to get energy requesting type 3’s
IC ordered 5 single resource, immediate need type 3’s
Edit: order filled, mixed State and LG 3’s from Tuolumne County
Stanislaus County just toned out 2 Type 3 engines code 3 immediate need to form a ST on scene.
AA440 as Parrots AA- ROC:
100-120 acres MROS, headed toward high tension power lines.
AA had a resource order but did not hear what he ordered. AA says 120 acres, mros, heading towards the High tension power lines. And south opps working on resource order for aircraft.
125 acres, still under a down canyon influence.
IC expecting the transition to to an up canyon influence… “still a lot of work out in front of us.”
The Region 4 propositioned task force that was in North Tahoe has been assigned to this incident.
Tankers on load and hold as retardant is all the way around the fire. Air attack anticipates recalling them once the windshifts up canyon.
Looks to be holding at 136 Acres. 40% contained as of last night, with forward progress stopped… Great stop on this one!!.. Had major potential…
If they can hold it today with out much problems, CHI24EF correct very great stop. For what the had left in TCU, Batt 4412 did one hell of a job. Great work by Cal Fire, Air resources and the local cooperators putting a smack down on this fire.
Also helps having short turn around on both tankers and copters.
Also 9322C from Santa Barbara County Covering TCU at the time of I/A . Great stop by everyone.
