Same away as the fire yesterday. 25 acres spotting. Head running into rock creek road. All aircraft from Columbia at scene. One type one AT ordered and two more S2. In the grass and oak woodland. Don’t even want to think about how hot it is down there.

10 to 15 drive time from Copper Cal fire. 20 to 25 from Altaville Cal fire. Had a few fires in that area when I was a Captain there. Not the best road either.

Gotcha, thinking about the one above West Point. Thats a long drive for everyone. Been awhile since we had a fire in that county.

They keep it under 100 acres that’s a big win. You have to worry about your crew in this heat. Copper area is one of the Hottest area in Calaveras County if not the hottest.

As a life-long resident of the county, i agree. Copper is the hottest and the salt springs valley area is probably worst.

Damn thing hung up in some rocks. Dozer having a tough time in there cutting line. Ground crews catching up with the dozers. Sending a Lima ST from Altaville to the fire. I had more than one flat tire in that country. AA saying try to keep the engines out of the head area by the reservoir and that the last pieces to tie the line together.

It’s looking a lot better, still under 50 acres I heard. Tankers are released and for now T-82,83 load and hold. Ships are still working to my knowledge. Lima ST just got on scene. Now we can only hope that fire to the north our brothers and sister can have some success and stay safe. That fire is ripping out of Weed.
