Feds were control burning on the forest near Herring creek yesterday.

Been on a few of these in the same area. If they don’t catch it before hand it will run to the high water mark on the lake and that should do it. Winds pushing it that way. We have a ST of engine covering SLO. We also had one in Fresno but they should be home by now.

Fire is 56 acres and 50% contained as of this morning. Part of fire is burning in a 2012 fire scar with numerous down and dead, standing and dead oaks and bull pine. Perimeter is secure with line around it. Crews are chunking and burning the interior for a 100% mop up strategy due to numerous phone calls for smoke reports from Don Pedro boat traffic.
