Requesting 3 additional engines and an additional dozer.
There is still a structure threat.
middle fire is 5 acres still moderate rate of spread, and one of the fires is contained.
20-30 acres total for all 3 fires. FROS stopped and all 3 are in mop-up.
Drove through this in the first 20 minutes on my way out of town and it was a pretty messy fire to chase with the wind. Lots of orchards but any roadside grass would carry it around until it found little jackpots, pump irrigation shelters, irrigation ditches etc. Freeway traffic behaved somewhat, but CHP wasn’t quite getting the memo to shutdown the right lane, and a lot of resources were crossing the median south to north to make access; nothing like gunning a model34 across interstate lanes in a small traffic break, only to find a sharp embankment right off the shoulder. Engine 110 (schedule A) had to go out of service on the shoulder, 1 degree shy from tipping over. All 4 wheels were still on the ground, but a fart could have sent it on its way. He got towed back onto flat ground. Please send new BVD’s to that crew. Great stop considering the logistics and conditions! Final acreage on all 3 fires was just under 70 I believe.
