This is a lightning complex of 3+ larger fires started in the Discussion group, See that tab for most of the details. However, there a few other smaller fires found near the Balch Fire and are being called the Balch fire. These are on the Tule Indian Reservation and are under a TIA incident number run by SQF forest. SQF Fire net is command.

A slop over on Success Fire off success lane had a full wildland dispatch that has stopped the forward progress of that slop.

One AA is running all fires on AG41 and AA43.

Nice update APX.

Just heard AA releasing some aircraft…feeling good about it?? I don’t see much
on the cams. This low elevation fuel loading maybe moderate but the temps these
ground forces work under are hot. I recall those days.

Maybe aircraft will be reassigned to LPF.

For tomorrows aircraft lineup for the complex:

4 Type 1 Tankers
4 Type 2 Tankers, CDF S2’s or multi engine (that’s what AA said)
4 Type 1 Copters
2 Type 2 Copters
1 Lead plane.
1 AA

Must still be a lot of open line.

The mountain was trying to get going again and had a little header on it about an hour ago, The nettle fire also had a header showing through the haze about the same time.

Right now the heat showing on satellite is rivaling the willow on the lp.

Cow as of last night is 104 acres, 35% contained.
Success is 800 acres and 50% contained.
Inciweb update only lists the Cow, but not the Nettle or Mountain, or Tree.

AA7 is up over the Mountain, Success and Nettle fires. Mmmm where’s the Balch?

Cams are not showing much more then drift and inversion smoke.

Only air up right now is the sky crane on Nettles. AA went down for a few hours and will be back up around 1600. Copter 522 on ground until requested.

1600 update copter 10HT was enroute to drop for mop up.

Mountan/Cow is 135 acres and 100% contained and in mopup phase.
According Wildfire incidents on Twitter the Nettles is 1700 acres and 10% contained. No other source on this fire. Smoke production is definitely minimal today.

This was visible from the Alabama fire yesterday. Off Mt. Whitney portal access. The we’re doing helicopter drops on it all day. Heard that Fenner was hiking into it yesterday.

Ugly country to hike in the picture doesn’t do it justice.

Decidedly NOT holding over now!

Awake and making slope/terrain alignment runs.

Nothing like a hike in during 100 degree days!

Lone Pine weather at 1400 was 104…From the looks of it there is going to be a few hikes to and from unless they can find a suitable LZ.

Heard the Mountain IC take all equipment off for tonight for return tomorrow. He said it was 120 acres.

AA51 flew the Nettle and down sized it to 1263 acres. Hew was on the AG channel so, I believe he was talking to Nettles. No open flame, just heat signature’s.

Hope I hear it correctly.
