July 2, 2020 at 7:51 AM USFS Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit Update: The Tallac Fire is contained, which means a control line has been completed around the fire. LTBMU firefighters made good progress last night with assistance from local, state and federal agencies including CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit. Due to more accurate mapping, the size has been downgraded to 2.2 acres. We urge Highway 89 travelers to use caution in the area between Camp Richardson and Emerald Bay as firefighters continue to mop-up this morning.
