Is that a high school the fire is headed towards?

Yes, Foresthill High ā€“ Home of the Wildfires.

got the Iap/ maps?

So what is the ā€œspan of controlā€ for a qualified and seasoned ATGS on a rapidly expanding incident? I wouldnā€™t post, on a public forum, that someone couldnā€™t handle a few more resources that are available and ready to use. Your feelings are a little to sensitive. Use EVERY resource available because it could go away in a second.

Agreed, Thereā€™s a lot going on right now.

There are many mechanisms in place to deal with span of control: IPs, orbits in assigned quadrants, assigned altitudes, etc. Itā€™s not rocket science.

Donā€™t know the number but some crews came off the 24 this morning were dispatch to the Dutch and back to the Mosquito. Dutch was a great stop and looks like the Mosquito they are starting to get a handle on by Forest Hill. Kudos to those with little sleep and everyone busting their butts on both fires on the ground and air.

I was very impressed with both air and ground ops! I was surprised that some of the type 1ā€™s didnā€™t use chico. Obviously not needed. Great job by all today!
