Not an expert on the topic as relates to firefighter insertion, but in the rock, rescue and arborist worlds it’s rappel. Although, maybe they are going to rappel in from copters to repel the fire?
Correct, they are stood back up for rappel. However, it’s not White Clouds first rappel as they rappelled prior to 2009 before the Willow Creek Rappel accident. It is their first operational rappel since being stood back up. Congratulations to the crew and the Tahoe NF!
