200 acres now
Structures were reported to be burning and LA media MIA.
last report: no structures lost…engines doing structure defense…at least what I heard.
as per Bn6 LACo Branch
Also question, can at944 reload at SB. Flew over me at Wrightwood recently towards SB…thought it was on Holser fire but came from Ranch2 direction…was away for awhile so could have been diverted???
landed 1616 SBD
Yes, T944 can and has been reloading at SBD. They bring in a portable compressor to fill the air tanks at the moment until a more permanent solution is in place. It is a great addition that cuts an hour of flight time each way out of going all the way back to MCC every load.
thanks…
It was supposed to drop on the Holsers fire but the fire got smoked in that AA cancelled them.
I was lead sawyer on a fire in this exact area (Holser Canyon), working alongside a CDF crew whose lead sawyer had a misstep and fell off a cliff and perished. It is steep, nasty, and unforgiving terrain. Stay alert and keep your headlamps bright.
