Big Thomas Fire energy/memories. Impossible to be as big or long-lasting as Thomas based on its location but the devastation is definitely comparable.

Hi there guys hope all is safe out in the flaming front of this nasty fire we are desperately trying to find any info on la patera in Camarillo, our relatives are out of state
I grew up on La Patera Court- I haven’t heard, but to get to Spanish Hills, it had to cross through near there- the Santa Ana’s would shake the whole house at times. There was a big barranca full of fuel behind the house.
Typically, damage assessments are not available until the active fire is out of a given area. Particularly with this being a life safety mission for most of the day, ground intel of specific areas is going to be hard to come by.
Totally agree and understand that it was just out of curiosity it has gone through one of our good friends properties
@pyrogeography’s video is likely your best way to get the info you are looking for at this time.

We arrived to the fire at La Patera and Via Veneto around 1pm when the fire was impacting that area. We were around the area of the equestrian club, with heavy veg and structure fires on the east side of the club. Fire was running down the drainage. We left the area soon after. If their house is west of the equestrian club, it’s likely in good shape, if it’s to the east, there’s a higher likelihood it could have been impacted. Hope this helps and hope everything works out for them
At 0700 Command will be on VNC-C5
