1/2-1 acres slow ROS, No structure threat.

All aircraft canceled copter 2 reports should be able to handle with the first alarm assignments from LPF and VNC

LPF 352 just arrived on scene, should handle with equipment that is responding. Fire bumped the fire break and is spreading slowly laterally. There is an under ground fire that pops out every year catching the brush on fire. VNC keeps a dozer break around it to help contain any brush fires that start from this condition.

What’s the backstory on that underground fire?

I believe it started during the Ranch fire, don’t remember the year. It’s in an area called Tar Creek where natural tar oozes out of the ground and burns during brush fires. This fire went underground and burns year round popping out when conditions are right. I don’t believe they have tried to extinguish it underground.

This is an LPF fire.
VNC named it Goodenough for the street below of the fire.

Correction this officially in a VNC fire, they have gone back and forth on who’s fire it is.
