Hand crews are headed in and a helo has been ordered. No word on AA or acreage yet
Per YoFire Facebook page, the fire is 19 acres and under full suppression. The fire was spotted by a helicopter assigned to the Red Fire. The fire is in the 9 year old Rim fire scar and is heavy down and dead, snags, timber, and brush.
Ty. Good to hear it’s under full suppression. My understanding is that there are cabins there. Historical maybe? I don’t know.
Scan/ Per IC 40 acres. Crews working both flanks. Line around 50%. Helos working. AA in place. Seeing more spotting with the heat of the day. Requested update on water tender availability.
Looks like a T80 is at Columbia as well and C404 just took off from there
When Yosemite National Park requests additional equipment, where do they get it? Is it ordered out of the nearest National Forest?
They would place their orders to So Ops and placed with the closest resource like SNF or STF
It is in a remote area and the Park doesn’t have a very wide spread radio network. There is only occasional information being talked about on command and unless you’re at right there, you aren’t going to hear comms on tac. Your best bet for info if you’re not wanting to wait for it here is probably the Yosemite Fire Facebook page
19 acres 5 hours ago, not doing much. Just 2 helicopters working it.
And now they’re getting lightning and possibly rain in Yosemite
Is it over the fire? That’s not super unusual.
Didn’t look… Headed out for the night… Just got a weather bug notification
Jumpers have been sitting at Porterville for days. Would have been a good one to order them on.
T79 & T80 Diverted from the Berry incident in SCU to this incident. Eta 20 min
She must be waking up.
Curious as to why not seeing any smoke on the cam near it
Spot fires in the adjacent meadow using the tankers to stop them from spreading.
California Team 10 ordered for the fires in Yosemite
Tankers diverted to FKU
