@14:50 Update
Middle Fork Tuolumne River. AA ordered two type 1 copters in addition to the two already working.
IC ordered 4 crews. Fire is spreading east and spotting up to 300’ ahead.

By the way: AA15 never got the type 1 copter orders filled until too late to deploy. They will RON nearby and launch Tuesday to work a full day.

The fire has been mapped at 38 acres by FIRIS INTEL12 above 5 minutes ago

Doubt it’s spotting 300’ ahead

Watching the video loop it looks like it might be spotting a little further

It’s a little hazy, but I can see the fire to the southeast of Duckwall starting to build. I’m looking from my backyard above Sonora. Air Quality not the best today.

I noticed YNP CAD showed many starts over the last few days. And… Fire history (years ago) on CalTopo shows many fires in the same area as the Middle.

Hardly any cams to scan the fires so I checked Inciweb, nothing listed.

I was a FOB for several weeks on one of those historical fires…2000’s. Camped out in a tent each night.

Mt Lewis and Mt Elizabeth are the ones I have been looking at.

Looking at the FIRIS film it is spotting almost a half mile and looking at the burn pattern that seems to be the primary reason for the spread

I think they will need more resources. It’s burning well tonight towards White Wolf campground. No Alerts on the NPS website tonight nor Inciweb.

This pic was taken around 06:15hrs. Taken from my backyard above Sonora looking SE of Duckwall Mtn into Yosemite. Thats roughly 45 to 50 miles. See what happens the rest of the day. As the day goes on the air quality seems to diminish a bit.

Watching the flight paths of AA/Helos looks like they are working another fire to the nearby NE

Looking out at the fire it looks from the casa more like a VMP burn. It has never really boiled up
with heat and smoke. Hopefully the Helitankers are keeping the heat down and it does that ground some good.

That’s a good column of smoke so, I think they are playing with it.

AA requested another type 1 copter again and it was denied, not UTF.

Oh, AA15 went over to a fire, or forest recon, on INF. CAD shows nothing notable.
