Well there’s this:

NMAC Correspondence M2023-02 2023 Incident Management Team National Rotation.pdf (166.9 KB)

The 7 days off rotation might cause a shortage of available teams when we hit PL 4 and 5.

Yeah if this year turns out to be anything like the last several, I’m sure the 7-Day rule will be exempted

California will have 10 Federal IMT’s this year. 4 Type 1 and 6 Type 2. As it currently stands this will be the last year for Federal Type 1 & 2 Teams and we will transition to the Complex Incident Management model in 2024. CAL FIRE will have 6 Type 1 Teams this year and, at this time, will not be moving to the CIMT model. The whole CIMT discussion will need its own thread as there are a lot of questions and issues with this. The IMT Team Meetings a couple of weeks ago was almost all about CIMT.

Has local government decided on a transition to CIM and if so any timeline?

At the Team Meetings last month the OES representative said that they were looking at it but did not offer any insight as to if they were going to adopt it or not and no timeline was given. Region 5 is not going to transition to CIMT until 2024 so there is still time to get everything hammered out.

Aren’t the local government teams primarily T3?

A large portion of the federal teams in California are local government employees. Outside of C&G, the qualifications don’t differ. When it comes to C&G, CICCS was just updated prior to CIM and the process to update it again may take a while if they decide to do so.
