Watched about 4 minutes of this week’s episode. That’s as long as I could last before nausea set in. I could not even laugh it off and make fun of it. This is the biggest pile of stinking excrement I have ever seen.
But not surprising from CBS.

I could agree with you except for one point, they are representing themselves as Cal Fire. If they changed the script to a one off named fire agency it wouldn’t matter. Any real agency would be aghast if this show was titled as their own agency, when it’s so fake. So, yeah it’s a TV show who represents themselves as a real named fire department agency. Any Cal Fire employee or retiree would be disrespected and down right pissed, and have a right to be.

Tacoma FD?
Chicago Fire?
The difference is that Deputy District Chief Steve Chikerotis who runs the district that the show is set in is a consultant to the show and no one from CAL FIRE is a consultant and the writers are completely freelancing it, Tacoma FD is just a spin-off of Super Trooper and is just a comedy.

On the lighter side of all the topics we are facing.
Kinda funny… We were all worked up and irritated about this show at one time. It’s gravitated to being so beyond fantasy and craziness it might be a stretch that anyone would really believe it has any thread of realism to it. Yes, my wife still watches it – but without me. My BP medicine doesn’t need to be tested. The snippets I have seen always leave me wondering how they get the “fire behavior” to behave in such lush, damp, and green fuel models. I remember in '98 in Florida it seemed like all the dead vegetation had been spray painted green - it looked so lush but burned like gasoline. This is more than a little different.

Aaaah yes! Volusia County in FL. Every day at 1400 the cloud fronts from the east & west would create a spectacular lightning & rain storm for an hour or two. Then, it would clear up & the fire would wake up & roar!!! A great 5-week experience as an 18 yo USFS kid.
