They’re a 10 person module that rotates off forest assignments with 2 other 10 person mods on the forest when they go to an assignment. Structured with a captain 8, assistant 7, and squad leader 5 or 6.
Then peppered with perm 5 and temps. The HMFIC also rotates between each mod when on an assignment. Most of the overhead has been on the forest for a while. The duty station is off hwy 50 across the street from chevron in fresh pond. Pretty good spot for a FS station. Good gym. A few decent running spots. Their is 2 type 3s, a helicopter crew and type 2 helicopter, BC, DC, a patrol and some other folks that works out of the same compound so it can be pretty busy.
The crew does a good job building folks up and gives people plenty of training opportunities IMO
They get a sucked down to the front country a good handful of times a year for ia’s. At least Half the ENF is burnt so I can’t speak to what project work they do.
