Anyone else out there watched the demos for the EV Vehicle Fire blankets?
I have watched several and looked at some specs. Manufacturers are stating they could be used upwards of 30 times!
So here is my random question of the day, mixed with obersvation…The EV Fire Blankets are taking direct flame impingement for varying durations. Of course, the intent is to smother the fire or reduce intensity and temperature of the runaway reaction…but back to the direct flame impingement. That is the Achillies heel of legacy and latest generation fire shelters. So, what’s the chances of an integration of thought? I mean, our modern-day shelters are running what, $500-700? Whereas these blankets are $1800 for a 20’x25’.
I imagine there are propeller heads out there working on technological improvements, but i was just posing the idea…what if!?
