The bill is buried in committee for the past 17 months. Not looking good.
Update from September 18th
This would be great for federal firefighters with seasonal time, looks like it needs more support in the House.
Last part of article:

Difference now is that Democrats control House committees. Hopefully this gets a vote soon, sent over to Mitch and who knows what will happen there.
