All 13 have been delivered to the best of my knowledge. We got our engine in January and have been slowly getting it outfitted waiting on the go live date. Most of the positions have been filled for months too, the perm employees have been working on the A side as relief waiting for the engine to go in service.
Maybe they did things different in your unit but from what I understood they were making most of the calls starting this month āfor the B rideā and some other perm 2 positions as well , I myself received a call in rank 5 last week and another friend of mine yesterday as a perm 2, maybe they are done now but as of yesterday they were not, rumor was calls were being made all month
Also Iām not sure if anyone can shed some light on this, but when I received the offer I was told I can accept, or deny and be removed from the list, I always thought you can say no but remain on the list for future offers? Did they change that?
I cannot speak to this classification specifically, but most positions, you will get 1 free decline and then they will drop you from the list for the 2nd declined position. If I recall, this application flyer had the choice for specific RU or entire Statewide availability. If you checked the entire State, they would be under the justified presumption that you would be willing to accept a position anywhere. I would recommend checking the packet for the acceptance conditions. They will generally have the conditions in the packet.
If it were me, take the position, even though it might not be the perfect fit for you, and get in the door. Once you are in and off probation, you can transfer to anywhere that you like and has an opening. The key with CalFire is not to be too picky unless the position is in Yreka and you live in San Diego.
Thanks for the info and now that you bring that up, I believe your right and Iām sure I put willing to work anywhere, which I am, and also feel very lucky, that being said I am San Diego and while Iām not going to eureka I do have a new 7 hour commute every week, but still very thankful none the less
Part of the application package had a map of the state. You had to do 1 of 2 things
Rank each unit 1-21 with your work preferences or select the entire state I believe. When they make the offer, it is for only 1 unit. If you say no you go to the end if the line in that rank. So say you were #100 in rank 5 of 250 total. If they are hiring out of ranks 3, 4, 5 and there were. Total of 500 people between those 3 ranks. You get rotated to the bottom of rank 5. They can still only hire out of the top 3 ranks at any given time. So if they exhausted everyone in rank 3 and the new top 3 ranks are 4, 5, 6. Depending on your written score, someone in rank 6 who had a better score than you will get the call 1st before you get a 2nd offer. The hiring folks have explained it to me that the key is to score as best as you can. Because if you scored a 85 on the written, but had career credit points to lift you to say a 90 and put you in rank 3. Once they get to lower ranks, a person with a better written score gets the call 1st even if they are in a lower rank.

I have declined several offers more than 5 for FAE and FF2. I still remain on the list. I just tell them to keep me active. As far as I know the will not take you off unless you ask.

What units did you guys get offers from?
LNU,SCU,BTU,
FKU,AEU,NEU,CZU. Maybe another one or two. Also some of the units I have had multiple offers.
Does anyone know if they are still making offers?
Any idea on where they are at on the list in terms of rank? I think I heard rank 6 a couple of months ago, can anyone confirm? Thanks in advance.

The week of Jan 6 the FC & FAE offers begin. With the 1st two FFA academyās starting Jan 20. A majority of those positions will be for promotional FAEās, New HFEOās and open list FCās so they get into the COAās that start March 9th. I would expect FF2 offers the 2nd half of Jan once all the 1st round of promotions occur.

Did anybody else apply again to the FF II? It closed on 10/25. Iām rank 4. So hopefully get a call this time

I applied again. Was in rank 5 moved up to rank 4 due to the reorganization from people getting jobs.
Are they ranking everyone again or are you staying where you are on the list since this is just resume review?
From what I heard they are updating the ranks so weāll all just move up and take the place of people who got jobs. The FAE is a resume review cause they only have 3 ranks the 2 list is still off the ranks,certs and resume.
Thatās exactly what happened to me too. I was rank 5 and now 4.
I know the ranking is good for 5 years I believe. So everybody is moving up a rank since people are getting hired. I was rank 5 last year and now rank 4
