Still no word on a start date?
No. I’ve been emailing Cal Fire North Hiring. All they said was they are working to get us cleared. I got my phone call on January 17th. So it’s been a waiting game for me
I’ve thought about calling my chief who offered me the job and see if he has any updates but I just don’t want to be that guy
When I got my LT-FAE offer in 17’. I emailed all documents except for CPAT as I wasn’t expecting a offer. Got the card 6we later and waited 2 weeks and started calling. Never got an response till middle of April and didn’t get a start date till 10 days before I started. I was turn key as I had both FFA & COA. I know several other people that got LT offer’s started right a way because of the nees for FFA & COA. Here are some dates to keep in mind
March 9
2 FFA start 1 Ione, 1 Clark
2 COA start both Ione
April 27
2 COA start both Ione
May 5
1 FFA start at Clark
June 22
2 FFA start 1 Ione, 1 Clark
1 COA start Ione
As LT-FF you can start W/O attending FFA and actually work for up too 1.5 years before you goto The FFA

So if your LT FF they will send you to FFA before your 2 years are up?
You can only be an LT for 24 months. So to Perm up you have to attend FFA. Have seen some units use LT’s as a way to prevent the employee from leaving/transferring as you have a 2yr commitment. Then when they perm you up, the 2yr commitment clock restarts. Oh yeah, can’t transfer while on JAC. So while you’re committed for 2yr when you accept an offer, can’t transfer till you finish JAC, which is a 3yr process.
I think it safe to say that we are all in the same spot and just waiting now for a start date.
I got a LT offer for CZU today. I am in rank 4. I turned it down after weighing the pros and cons for my particular position. So keep those phones on folks!

Are those dates for this year? Because I got an LT offer and a perm offer. I haven’t even started as LT yet.
The Academy dates? Yes, those are a partial list of FFA & COA for 2020. Scheduled are 12 FFA and 7 COA.

I took a perm then LT spot to thought I would get to start earlier. We will see what happens.

15th Of last month.
Oh yea your waiting just as long as me haha. Sucks to wait but it will be worth it when we get out start date
