I’m curious if Region 5 is still suspending all prescribed fire, and if so, if there is any information out there on what it will take for them to green-light burning again?
EDIT: According to Region PAO the ban was lifted last week.
How did the pause affect any of your projects?
Can’t confirm, however I heard from multiple people they have no funds for RX overtime. I think RX Hazard Pay hasn’t started for them yet, but if so that could be a factor as well.
Many northern CA forest missed under burn windows. probably a few 1000 acres of missed opportunities. There is funding for OT, it just has to be requested and its limited.
