70 days later, these fire that were burning across ID, MT, WA, BC, and OR are waking up under very hot conditions. Persistent above normal temperatures, new lightning fires, and gusty winds this weekend could bring about a week the likes we have never seen across the United States.

Absolutely explosive fire weather conditions could occur over the Great Basin into Idaho as a dry mid level jet sets up over the region through the weekend. As we go into the weekend a large trough moving into the Great Basin could increase onshore wind gusts of up to 80 MPH and many already burning fires plus lightning holdovers could see large growth.
