The depiction on that cover actually happened. On “Operation Fire Stop” held at Camp Pendleton in 1954.

The engine looks similar to the 1951 International model 1 that I went to my first fire on in 1967. Except instead of a hose reel we just cable coiled 150’ of 1" hose in an open hose box. No crew
seats in back, no seat belts, no roll bar! You just laid on the hose bed and hung on with your hands. When you hit a bump your whole body would be airborne except for your hands holding on for dear life!!
