Monday evening update:
37,739 acres, 10% contained, 826 personnel
Active; uphill runs; group torching; flanking
Limited active surface fire throughout the evening. ROS: 100-200 feet/hour within the Salmon River corridor. Smoke layer limited active fire behavior until 1400. Active surface and crown fire after 1500 when the inversion lifted. ROS within the PP/grass/litter: 800 to 1000 feet/hour for flanking, backing fire; 1/2 mile/hour for head fire. Group torching within concentrated pockets of fuels with greater than 3/4 mile spotting potential. POI: 80%. West transport winds have potential to spot over Highway 93.
