I suspect the Feds will put a T2 team on this. Its a LPF fire.

The Fed teams are all “complex” teams now.

No more type 2 FED teams. Only Complex Incident Management Teams.

What’s in the world is a “Complex Team” ??

All the teams are now able to manage type 2 and type 1 incidents. A complexity analysis is still completed, but all the teams are available for either level. If this makes sense.

From my understanding it’s a scalable type one team.

They can respond with a “short team” which would be less personnel and this typically would be based on complexity and the ask by the host agency

It was explained to me that a “short team” would basically be for a type 2 incident but I don’t know if that has translated into real world practice.

On paper that is probably right, but you just aren’t going to see any fires listed as type 1 or 2 in the fed world anymore. They are now:
Type 5, 4, 3 and complex incidents.

Do the 209s say Complex or do they still say 1-5?

The 209s don’t specifically state the numerical rating but they do indicate whether a type 5, 4, 3, or complex IC is commanding the incident. What I have noticed is that when it is complex the complex team is noted.
