Was July a record month for acreage burned?
They should have the stats pretty quick I’d wager.
Pretty sure we burned a fire seasons worth in one month…

Could have set a local record, but looking at the national sit report for today, the total number of fires year-to-date is actually slightly behind average, the total acres burned is about 126% of the ten year average for this point in the year, but it has been running like that for a while. So wouldn’t appear to be a huge departure from normal across the board. Some areas have been hit really hard, but others very slow. Kind of the typical pattern, just rotates whose turn it is for a butt-kicking and who gets a break at home and gets to go help their brothers.
