The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may occur where they live.

CERT trains volunteers in basic disaster response skills, such as:

  • Fire safety
  • Light search and rescue
  • Team organization
  • Disaster medical operations

Search for a local program, register your group and stay connected on the CERT website.

The CERT program offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, allowing them to focus on more complex tasks.

“Possible direct exposure of the Earth to the cold dense Interstellar Medium 2-3 Myr ago”

Imagine you are our Sun speeding along minding your own business when suddenly you & your orbiting bodies all pass through a cloud so dense that it pushes back your mighty protective heliosphere/shield to a point that it no longer protect the planets and they are left to absorb the full brunt of cosmic un-nicery! I feel this too is data worth paying attention to and i’m glad someone is studying it…
