Just an FYI for the community. Effective July 1 the EMPF/EMTF position manual has been updated on the FIRESCOPE website. As a part of this and, required by the CICCS Qualification Guide (CA Local Government folks), there is now a 16 hour course and completion of the accompanying task book for all newly qualified folks in this area. Check out the FIRESCOPE website at www.firescope.org and look under the training tab.

Those of us already in the system are grandfathered correct? Ie no task book unless required by our local agency.

That’s correct. Anyone previously listed in ROSS stays qualified. Anyone not qualified by the July 1, 2018 date will have to go through the process as outlined above.
