From a different thread for Glass: The EAS system in Napa County was just activated with a generic, alarming, and non-specific message about evacuating due to wildfires if one felt unsafe. The cell phone version of the message did not mention the Glass fire, but the TV version did.
Another comment: They just issued a clarification IPAWS message to help the understanding of the initial alert. Believe it was intended to convey that the threat from the Glass Fire is still very much real and that people should continue to evacuate when notified to do so. There are still a lot of people in the Mandatory Evacuation zones.
That may or may not be related. I’m not seeing anything going on in Brooktrails area and my sister lives there. Cameras are socked in everywhere with smoke, so can’t see anything.
The original IPAWS warning, intended as a stay alert and evacuate when told to do, also triggered the Sonoma County system in error. The IPAWS system for Napa County, is a County wide alert system.
