New video on the Camp Fire

FYI. This video is about 1 hour long.

Premiered Dec 30, 2019

“A High and Awful Price: Lessons Learned from the Camp Fire” is a mini-documentary taken from our interviews with first responders, disaster response officials and the survivors of the Camp Fire, passing on our hard won knowledge to those who may someday face their own disaster.

This was made in connection with Butte County and is meant as a clear, simple explanation of the causes, effects and responses to a disaster as complex, overwhelming and devastating as the Camp Fire–while also communicating the most important lesson: You are not helpless and there is something you can do in the face of danger.

It was made with the help of Sheriff Kory Honea of Butte County, CALFIRE Chiefs David Hawks and John Messina, Director of Butte County Department of Employment and Social Services Shelby Boston, the Chief Administrative Officer of Butte County Shari McCracken, Emergency Services Officer Cindi Dunsmoor, Retired Disaster Coordinator for the Paradise Unified School District (and PHS Principal after the fire Jeff Marcus) and Executive Director of California Vocations Bob Irvine.

Three Days in Paradise is being produced by Christopher Allan Smith and Laura Smith, Paradise residents now living in Chico.FYI. This video is about 1 hour long.

Thank you for putting this out there. There is such good information in this video for people from every facet of a disaster. Truly well done and done without finger pointing or blame.

Thank you for posting this. I went up to help with the animal response with North Valley Animal Disaster Group. I shared this on my home groups page Amador County Animal Response Team. Great information for all.
