This is probably some stupid AI issue. MSN is reporting that the Wolf Fire in SoCal is the largest fire burning in California at 1400 acres with several evacuations. Best I can tell is the Wolf fire has been contained for over a month.

People just reporting percent containment is a problem, too. Pickett hasn’t moved for a nearly a week, but is only 30-something% officially contained, so some national news treats it like it’s still chewing…

The term 'Containment", media wise, no longer means that. In today’s fire media world, the term ‘Containment’ now means what historically has meant ‘Controlled’. And don’t get me started on size-ups that estimate acreage potential. Happy Labor Day weekend!!!

My opinion, estimated acreage is about as unhelpful as it gets, potential should be IA or extended attack for control.
