NOPS Late August Lightning (2019)

Just heard the first thunder of the day from a large cell that’s forming over the Marble Mountains and west side of Scott Valley. It’s only 8:07. Going to be an interesting day.

Narrow band of significant but quick-moving precip right up the West Branch Feather River. Currently heading due north over the Skyway. Probably just enough to keep things interesting into tomorrow’s heat. Northern part of this cell is starting to enter eastern Tehama County.

BTU has another start that’s putting up some good smoke on the Cohasset cam. AA210 over it. South side of 32 near Nelson Ravine. General area. Slow ROS.

Looks like LMU and SHU are being hit hard. Not sure if any precipitation is with this one. I did see quite a few areas with LAL’s of 3,4,and 6’S

So far SKU has Badger, 2 fires 1 acre each in Badger Pass NW of Yreka, the Dump fire above the Yreka landfill 2 acres, and looking for a fire in Schulmeyer Gulch south of town. KNF is working into 2 fires in Ash Creek south of the Klamath River/Highway 96. AA05 is assisting all.

No fires reported in the Scarface area south of Yreka but there is a continuous train of cells developing in that area and moving north for the last couple of hours.
