Windy this weekend. Pretty significant pattern amplification
occuring this weekend with a large trough digging into western
U.S. This will bring in some wind…possibly impactful wind gusts.
NAEFS ensemble data suggesting some 10 year return interval north
winds setting up Saturday night into Sunday as strong and dry
northerly flow sets up. At 850 mb GFS is showing 40 to 45 knots at
this time and will have to keep an eye on this. At this time a
wind advisory looks like a good bet and have started to message
this already. Rasch

.EXTENDED DISCUSSION (Sunday THROUGH Wednesday)

Things still on track for a possible fairly impactful valley wind
event Saturday night but mainly Sunday afternoon. NAEFS is
trending higher on 850 mb wind values with an area of 30 year
return interval in V component now showing up Sunday afternoon.
Have accordinly upped winds a bit. Will continue to message this
in partner emails and try to message stronger tomorrow with
attention of today`s activity going away and increase in
confidence as the event nears. Rasch
