Lightning sparked over a dozen fires in the Elko district Sunday afternoon. The largest so far:
#CortaFire, near Jiggs, est 3000 acres
#GooseFire, 20m east of Jackpot est 600 acres
#HoganFire, southeast of Wells, est 650 acres
Fed, State & local resources responding.

It’s socked in by smoke.
Goose, shafter, and Corta fires are cranking today.
AA ordered 10 LAT’S for tomorrow. Per AA fire is growing exponentially.
AA may get 4-5 LAT, but not 10 unless there is a life & structure threat?
There isn’t much except some scattered ranch homes in that area.

Elko County Road 718 (Harrison Pass Road) is OPEN to thru traffic only, beginning today.
I believe that while a lot of it is on the HTF, this is actually a NV-EKD fire, based on the incident number on wildcad and the map posted above.
