Saw a number of Cal Fire engines heading back West on I-80 about 2130 as I was heading east.
This mutual aid on the Sierra Front is standard especially if structures are threatened. With an east wind this might have cranked hard enough to spot into the Mt Rose Ski Resort.
Folks on the ground tell me that a combo of natural barriers and retardant did the trick. Ground access there is difficult and potentially dangerous.
