Yikes, that’s dropping very late, well near cutoff (pumpkin time) and the Lead Bravo 55 has just left the scene. Quite a unique air show the last two days there, especially no structural threat in grass and sage fuels. Guess spending $$$$$$ on Grouse habitat is justified?
Wildcat Fire Update - Incident is currently 14,213 acres and is 0% contained. There is 9 Engines, 6 Crews, 3 Dozers, 3 Helicopters, multiple Air Tankers and several overhead firefighters on scene.
Orders for additional resources are being filled through Elko Interagency Dispatch Center. A big hats off to them for handling this incident in addition to the 20 plus other fires in the area.
Agencies battling the blaze include Bureau of Land Management Fire, US Forest Service, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Nevada Division of Forestry, Firefighting Contractors as well as support from Elko County Fire Department.
