This one escalated quickly yesterday. Ground forces were able to catch the initial fire and two subsequent spot fires. A third spot fire rapidly expanded and lent of rapid rate to spread. Heavy augmented aircraft including Vlat and ODF IMT team one activated .evacs in place

Already attempting to punch through this morning with the West wind on it that is forecasted increase throughout the afternoon

Michael Steinberg reports that a non-fire plane crashed on the runway in Medford and tankers and relief AA are stuck on the ground until it’s cleared off.

Much of yesterday’s growth on this fire was in the new spot fires, which are 300 and 900 acres, respectively.

Fire is capping out on and off since about 1600. Surface winds are out of the north. Transport winds from south. Curious how hard it may run south/downhill? Some spread models are bullish on southward growth next few days. COD: Satellite and Radar
