Online lightning data

The online location I used last year for lightning doesn’t appear to be working anymore. Anyone know of a location where I can get a quick look at lightning activity online for this year?

Here are a few open-access links:

NIFC Lightning Viewer: https://lightningapi.nifc.gov/viewer/

VentuSky: https://www.ventusky.com/

FYI NIFC LV can be slow to load, refresh a few times if it vapor-locks

I use an App “My Lightning Tracker” can be customized and setup for Alerts. :+1:t4::+1:t4:

It seems the NIFC Lightning Viewer (at https://lightningapi.nifc.gov/viewer/ ) no longer works. Does anyone know what the replacement of it is? I found it pretty useful.

Still under negotiations with a vender but you can write NIFC and they can get you temporary access to the new lightning viewer but only 2 hour data currently. That is supposed to expand once finalized.

You can change all the settings, track real time lightning as well as previous 24hrs.

I also like using goes group energy density and flash count. Shows you what you are seeing on the ground and what’s coming.
